Hips and knees: Joint replacement provides a new quality of life
For more than 50 years, our hospital for orthopaedics and sports orthopaedics at the Klinikum rechts der Isar (TUM University Hospital on the right-hand side of the Isar) has specialised in the artificial replacement of hip and knee joints. As a maximum care endoprosthetics centre we rank among the leading hospitals for joint replacement in Germany. Our experienced surgeons help patients with made-to-measure solutions, minimally invasive methods (for example AMIS) and most modern techniques (for example robot-assisted joint replacement) to regain pain-free mobility.
Certified quality and safety
Our Prosthesis Centre EndoTUM is endoCert certified. Every year we implant around 1,000 hip and knee prostheses and carry out around 400 replacement interventions.
You have come to the right place if conservative and joint-preserving measures cannot satisfactorily alleviate your movement restrictions and pain. In our Prosthesis Centre EndoTUM we work interdisciplinary with colleagues from other departments of the Klinikum rechts der Isar and can therefore also provide the best possible help to patients with very complex problems and serious secondary illnesses.
Minimally-invasive surgical techniques for a quick recovery
We use the most modern, protecting surgical techniques ensuring that you can be back home quickly. Which means that we implant hip prostheses with the minimally invasive AMIS© technology. With knee prostheses, the surgical robot “Mako” enables us to achieve optimum precision and thus an exact surgical intervention. This implies: less pain and a shorter recovery time for the patients.
